One of the largest impacts on our social, mental and physical wellbeing can be our relationship with our partner. Our partner is often the person who we want to feel at home with — to feel loved, cared for, protected and safe with.
However, this can be difficult to achieve sometimes.
They may not always meet us where we hoped them to be.
It is even more difficult when we can’t get through to them.

Understand the triggers in the relationship: Triggers in relationships are common, as our past experiences shape our reaction to circumstances or experiences. Together, we can deeply explore any unmet needs that may not fully be communicated.
Explore communication styles: Different communication styles can cause disconnection or misunderstanding in relationships. Together, we can explore how you and your partner can communicate with each other to reduce the tension in communication styles.
Process emotional weight: Some situations can lead us to carry feelings of hurt, pain, distress, anger and guilt. These are all heavy emotions that need to be processed and addressed. We can safely do this in the counselling space - you will be held space for you to express your pain.
